SHOE PROJECT

Playing around with the layout of the mood board
Colour and patterns

We got, at the beginning of the term, a brief from the Start-rite shoe company to design 2 shoes for kids. It had to be an interchangeble beach shoe.
We have all been a bit stressed working with this project. Mainly becuase its something we never done before.

I'm finaly done with my two designs. It's the "3-in-1 shoe" and "The crunch shoe". Used my own pattern which might not be the ideal for kids shoes (tanks, machine guns etc), but I liked the idea of bringing my Studio work into my design.

Because I'm very traditional when it comes to the illustration of the shoe, (I'm not a master at Photoshop and Illustrator) I cut all pieces out by hand and glued each colour on top of each other to make the shoe and shades.

Deadline tomorrow

Carrow house

My old drawing of 1920's clothing

http://www.norwichtextiles.org.uk/ is a great link and The Carrow House is a great source of inspiration both when it comes to the history of pattern, design, textiles etc but also when it comes to develop your drawing skills.
Its a shame that I never use this source more. Its something that I definitely will do as soon as I get back to Norwich.

Draw them

Its so hard to draw people you know and I never do...normally. I can never bring in the personality in to the image and It's hard when you know a face. But I decided to try to draw my friends, as a small wedding present.

Escaping from the "real" world

As you can, slip away and escape from (now days) "normal life"without internet access, I tried to use that time to do some practical and good...like practice drawing. The time I normally would use to be "social" on Facebook.

Made a quick "drawing" film as a research for my next year project.
Filmed in Sheringham, uk, 1 week ago. It was cold and big waves.
Everything is filmed backwards and then reversed.

"Each fairy tale is a magic mirror which reflects some aspects of our inner world, and of the steps required by our evolution from immaturity to maturity. For those who immerse themselves in what the fairy tale has to communicate, it becomes a deep, quiet pool which at first seems to reflect our own image; but behind it we soon discover the inner turmoils of our soul – its depth, and ways to gain peace within ourselves and with the world, which is the reward of our struggles.” -Bruno Bettelheim
